Seokjin: 15 August Year 22

I was just starting to pick up some speed after getting out of a congested intersection when I slammed on the brakes. The bad-tempered driver behind me sped past me, blasting the horn. It seemed like someone was cursing at me, but I couldn't hear it over the chaotic noise of the city. In the alley on my right, I could see a flower bed on the corner. I didn’t make a sudden stop because I saw the flower shop. Rather, it felt like I discovered the shop after stopping. 

 

The owner, who was in the middle of setting up the interior of the shop, approached me. I had no expectations. Even though I had gone to many different flower shops, not even one florist knew about the existence of that flower. They showed me flowers of a similar color, but I wasn't looking for something similar. It had to be that flower. After hearing the name, the owner stared at me for a long time. He told me he could have it delivered even though the shop wasn't open yet. Then he asked me, "Why do you need to have that flower?" 

 

While I turned the door handle and entered the street, I thought about it. The reason I needed that flower. There was only one. Because I wanted to bring her happiness. Because I wanted to make her smile. Because I wanted her to see a good version of me. Because I wanted to be a good person.
