Jimin: 16 May Year 22

Hoseok’s home was elevated higher than a lot of the other buildings. It was a rooftop room on a dead end street that you had to walk up a big hill and go through winding alleyways for a while to get to. While entering the single-room residence, Hoseok bragged that the whole area we grew up in was right under our feet and that this was the highest floor in the city. Just as he said, I could see many places from his rooftop room. The train station wasn’t so far away, and I could see the shipping containers all lined up if I followed the train tracks. Namjoon was living in one of them. If I turned my gaze a little from there, I could see the school we went to together.

 

I turned around and looked at the opposite side of the city after I found our school. If I followed the base of the mountains, I could see a huge lined-up apartment complex. That’s where my home, no, my parent’s home was. I ran away from the hospital without saying anything to them. They would’ve contacted my parents by now. Maybe my parents were looking for me at this very moment. I still didn’t have the courage to face them. I left the hospital, but I couldn’t go home. When I say that, I definitely don’t mean that I want to go back to the hospital. But, I had nowhere to go and no money. When I had hesitated, Hoseok told me to follow him and led the way. And the place we arrived at was here, his home. 

 

I stared at the apartment complex again. I had to go there at some point. I had to go there and tell my parents that I wasn’t going back to the hospital. I took a deep breath. I thought I was going to have a seizure at that thought alone. To be honest, I’m not sure if I believed in myself enough to live outside of the hospital. I could be hospitalized again. I was so scared I could hardly bear it.
